In 2021 we had extensive drainage liner repairs done. The liner and the adjoining grass areas are the largest assets SOHA owns. It is also presents our biggest financial exposure. Based on a survey we had done a few years ago, it would cost well over $300,000 to replace the whole liner. This means if we don't maintain it, this full cost would need to be incurred at once, which translates to assessing each of the 400+ properties an equal portion of the cost. To avoid a one-time huge assessment, our annual dues contribute to a reserve that is held so we can pay for expenses.
